Activities

Activities

Our activities are consistent with our goal of supporting other stay at home mothers of color and the communities we live in.

Weekly/Monthly Support Group Meetings
Every local chapter of Mocha Moms, Inc. holds weekly or monthly support group meetings to discuss topics and issues that relate to health, relationships, finances, family, nutrition, etc... An informal discussion led by one of the Mocha Moms or an invited facilitator is an integral part of the support group meetings. Support meetings are approximately two hours in duration and serve as opportunities for mothers to gather and talk. Our goal is to share and exchange ideas and information in an effort to support each other through life's challenges. Meetings are held every third Saturday of the month at 10 am at a location to be announced.

Playdates
A time for our moms and children to get together to build lasting relationships. This is a great opportunity for our infants and toddlers to develop social skills. Playdates will be during the week for stay at home moms and weekends for our working moms and older kids.

Family Night Out
We will meet at various locations around the Inland Empire. Our family affairs include dining together at a local pizzeria, bowling, game night and/or gathering at a fellow Mocha Moms home for a potluck... any place viable where parents and kids can socialize.

Moms Night Out
Moms only nights are sponsored monthly by each local chapter. This is a time for moms to reconnect with self and enjoy the company of fellow Mocha Moms. Often it is the only time members have to "recharge" their batteries and focus on themselves. We have enjoyed various outings such as The Ontario Improv, dinner out, health spas, scrap booking, pottery, karaoke, etc... Most of the time; however, a chapter will invite an expert in a field to come to a members home to discuss such issues as educational options for children, investing, financial planning, or operating a home based business.

Exhale Night
Exhale nights began with the San Fernando Valley chapter. It is a night where members only get together and can discuss anything. Nothing is off limits. Every woman attending has a voice and a right to be heard. This event is always lead by the chapter President or Vice President and it is stressed that we are a support group first and foremost and a by-product of that support is a playgroup for our kids. President urges members to remember that close friendships do develop within every chapter, but every woman is responsible for reaching out, making new friends and getting the support that she deserves and needs. Jump in and get some of this Mocha Love! We are here for you!!

Date Night Out
This couples only event is sponsored monthly by our local chapter. This is a time for moms and dads to reconnect and fellowship with one another and other couples. This can be dinner out, a game night at a Mocha Moms home, movies, a Saturday afternoon at the winery, etc...

Community Service Projects
Community Service and Outreach is a key part of Mocha Moms, Inc. Each local chapter is required to perform two community service projects each year. This is easily accomplished because most members are eager to use their energy doing something positive for their community.

Description

The Inland Valley Mocha Moms are planning an adult only Turnaround. It will be an 8 hour stay at Primm Nevada formerly known as State Line. The locale offers three casinos (Buffalo Bills, Primm Valley and Whiskey Pete's), Fashion Outlet of Las Vegas, Desperado Roller Coaster, Primm Valley Golf Club, Swimming pools, resturants and sports books.

We will be traveling in a brand new coach bus with a bathroom, Ipod hookups, DVD player, TV's, P.A. System, reclining seats, overhead and under carriage storage, We will have organized games, sack lunches and drinks in route with the opportunity to win a cash pot for spending at Primm. Upon arrival everyone gets a free buffet meal at the casino.

You get all of this for the low, low price of $30 per person. You'd spend more than that in gas on a one way trip if you drove yourself. So we are inviting all of our family and friends who are 21 and older, to come hang with the Mochas!!!
